Kudumbashree is designated as the State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) under DAY – NRLM of Ministry of Rural Development. Under the scheme, Kudumbashree has been focusing on reaching the poor in the state through communitisation as well as social and financial inclusion of vulnerable sections with the help of various innovative pilots and strategies. Special focus is given to vulnerable sections like Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes, Primitive Tribal Groups, Persons with Disabilities and communities living in remote areas. NRLM also ensures imparting requisite trainings for group management, finance handling and livelihood enhancement. A total of 11.48 crores have been approved by NRLM for the year 2016-17.
