Vulnerability Mapping is an exercise to identify geographical areas in the immediate vicinity of the community where members of the community are vulnerable to threats of different kinds. Exposure to these threats may lead to poverty, health hazards or other undesirable situations. Vulnerability mapping as a tool will not only help in developing an action plan but also helps in capacitating the people to identify potential vulnerabilities and to address them. Community Resource Persons can provide support in realizing and understanding vulnerabilities through different methodologies. It also aims at participatory preparation of Social Protection Plan at the NHG level through focus group discussions, individual interviews, home visits, case studies and experience sharing.
